30 Years of Tribe Hockey in 2017

Tribe Hockey is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017. Join the team for its post-season banquet and awards ceremony on April 1 at the Alumni House on campus. Players, coaches, parents, alumni and friends are invited to this event, which begins at 4:30 p.m. We will also be inducting the program’s first two members of Tribe Hockey's Hall of Fame. Player Awards

Most Valuable Player Award: Awarded to the player judged to be most valuable to the team’s success.

Heart and Hustle Award: Awarded to the player who demonstrates a passion for hockey and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the program.

Team Scholar Award: Awarded to the junior or senior player with a declared major deemed to have the highest cumulative G.P.A. at of the close of the fall semester.

Leadership and Legacy Award: Awarded to the player who exemplifies great leadership qualities and demonstrates a lasting commitment to the future of the program.


Alumni Spotlight

The team will recognize Tribe Hockey alumni from the 90s — Jeff Stern, Rich Drab, Trey Kelleter and Nathan Brown, the team's first assistant/goalie coach — followed by a panel discussion.


Hall of Fame Induction

Tribe Hockey will be inducting its first two members of the Hall of Fame. The following attributes provide the basis on which the election of nominees to honored membership are to be considered:

  1. Player — Playing ability, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the team and to the game of hockey in general.
  2. Builder — Coaching or managerial ability, or ability in another significant off-ice role, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the organization and to the game of hockey in general.
